On one vivacious, serene, sunny morning, a man decides to take a stroll along the shoreline. He walks for miles and miles, enjoying the amazing weather and tranquil sound of the waves rolling onto the beach.
The man sees a small figure in the distance, that seems to be dancing around the beach. He thought to himself, what an interesting way to be celebrating this glorious day. As the man gets closer he realizes, the figure is indeed, not dancing. It seems like it is doing some strange type of ritual.
The man finally approaches the small figure, he realizes it is a young girl. The girl is tossing starfish back into the sea, that had washed up onto the beach.
The man intrigued by the young girl, the man asks her, "Why are you throwing those starfish?" "If i don't get them back into the ocean, the starfish will dry up and die." Replies the young girl.
Astonished by the young girl's kind act, he gestures up and down the miles and miles of beach and says, "How could you possibly think, you could make a difference, when there must be over a million starfish washed up and down the shore?"
The young girl, stops and ponders what the man had said for a moment. Then she turns to the man, and smiles, she slowly bends over, reaches down, grabs another starfish.
She stands back up, with her arm arched back, she gently and gracefully tosses the starfish into the surf. She then replies, "I made a difference, for that one!" "Always be kind."
